SOUTHAMPTON manager Ralph Hassenhuttl has lost the only member of staff he brought with him to the club in December 2018.

Assistant Danny Rohl, with whom the manager had worked at RB Leipzig, has quit to become assistant at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Bayern had been looking for an analysis expert to work alongside boss Niko Kovac and had approached - and been rebuffed - by Bayer Leverkusen’s Marcel Daum.

They turned to Rohl, who had been under contract until 2021 at Southampton. The assistant, who is still only 30, worked at Leipzig for eight years before moving to the Premier League side.

Southampton have not announced any intention to appoint a replacement.
